Portrait Prices

Keith's Driscoll's prices are in line with market prices charged by professional portrait artists at compareable stages in their careers. There are factors that can influence the final price, such as the number of people or pets in the painting; how much of each subject is to be depicted; the size of the actual painting itself; the intricacy of clothing, jewelry and props, and the complexity of the background setting.

Portrait Procedures

Initially the client and artist get acquainted at either the client's location or the artist's studio. Keith then holds one or two photographic sittings of about two hours.

The artist will select several photographs to use as reference and create a sketch(s) of a painting concept. The photographs and sketches are submitted to the client for comments. Keith and the client will then discuss the photographs and sketches either by phone or in person and, upon the client's approval, he will proceed with the portrait. In some cases another photographic session may be required.

The artist welcomes any opportunity to paint the subject from life (though it is not required).

Note: Keith may be willing to paint a posthumous portrait, but will first need to see the reference material from which he will be working to ensure the highest quality portrait.
